David Fitzgerald

Associate Director

David has 12 years of professional experience across corporate and leveraged finance, private credit, banking, and risk consulting.  He was most recently an Investment Director for Beechbrook Capital in Sydney, where he was responsible for establishing the local business and covered a range of roles including the origination of middle market transactions, fund capital raising, M&A, and operations. Prior to that, David worked in the Beechbrook investment team in London across 2018-21, focusing on lower middle market event driven financing. This spanned sponsor-backed transactions within Northern and Western Europe, and non-sponsored transactions in the UK. Loans typically ranged between ₤5m - ₤25m and were primarily senior secured debt transactions, with occasional subordinated debt and minority equity investments.

David worked as an Investment Manager for Yorkway Private’s real estate debt investments team across 2022-23, where he was responsible for executing and managing primarily senior secured debt investments of A$5m – A$30m. David commenced his career in KPMG’s Risk Consulting division (2014-16), working across Internal Audit and Financial Risk Management engagements for large corporates and financial institutions. He also worked at CBA across 2016-18, firstly in the Client Advisory Services team within the Institutional Bank in Sydney, followed by a secondment to the Debt Capital Markets team.

David has a Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) degree from the University of Sydney, with majors in Finance, Economics, and International Business. He has completed the CFA Program and became a Charterholder in 2020.
