Etienne Le Roux

Executive Director


Etienne brings over 20 years of international institutional banking and private capital credit experience. Most recently, as a Director in Westpac’s Acquisition Finance team since October 2018, he managed the team’s Australian origination, structuring, and execution of leveraged buyout and acquisition transactions for their Private Equity relationships, covering a A$4.5bn portfolio.

Prior to Westpac, Etienne led Rabobank Australia’s Leveraged Finance team from 2014, with primary responsibility for the Australian and New Zealand Private Equity portfolio. Earlier in his career and before coming to Australia in 2014, he spent six years with Rabobank across London, Paris, and Utrecht, covering leveraged finance, sponsor coverage, securitisation, and project finance. His responsibilities included managing large leveraged credit portfolios, leading complex syndicated transactions, and advising on M&A and capital structure solutions.

Etienne began his career with Moody’s in Johannesburg in 2005, analysing complex CLO and RMBS transactions across major EMEA markets. With Moody’s, he relocated to London in 2006 and later Paris, developing CLO cashflow models and refining structured credit risk-modelling methodologies.

He holds two first-class degrees from the University of Stellenbosch—a B.Com in Institutional Investments and Financial Economics and a B.Com Honours in Mathematics—and is a member of the International Golden Key Honours Society for outstanding academic achievement.
